Chrosziel’s 5th participation at Broadcast India 2009
Since 2004, Chrosziel has shown their products at Broadcast India, for the first time in 2008 at their own booth. This year as well, they expose together with their new agent for the Indian market, Mr. Ravi Potdar from S.R. Electronics (also agent for Aaton, Hawk, TransVideo, Ronford-Baker, Technotrans). Mr. Potdar has represented ARRI for many years and has excellent contacts in and a profound knowledge of the Indian film and video market.
The show was well attended. The important rental companies, studios and a multitude of production companies, free-lance camera men, as well as students had come to examine the latest products of well-known suppliers of film and broadcast equipment. Chrosziel presented their MatteBox MB 456 Academy on the brand-new Aaton Penelope. The MatteBox is characterized by its versatility: it mounts just as well directly on the lens as also via 15 mm rods; it offers three independently rotating filter stages and allows the use of wide-angle lenses up to 14mm with PL-mount Cine and DigiCine lenses. Its low weight and favourable price of € 1.604,- (RRP) are good arguments for the MB 456 Academy, says Chrosziel.
It was an impressing sight: Chrosziel’s flagship the Production MatteBox MB602 with 4 filterholders for 6.6x6.6 filters and Swing-Away System for quick lens change mounted on the ARRIFLEX 435. Light weight combined with rugged construction also marks this MatteBox 602. It is the only one in the world with smooth and precise filter positioning due to filterholders with a toothed gear. Also new: the well established StudioRig now with QuickFit connector. This manual follow focus for Cine and Cine-Style video lenses slips on the support rods from below – no need to dismount other accessories.
„The show was a total success for us“, resumed Sebastian Merkel, sales manager at Chrosziel, „we see a huge potential for our products in the Indian market that meanwhile has got ahead of Hollywood in terms of produced films.” Chrosziel will continue to expand their presence in India due to the partnership with S.R.
