MTF Star from Chrosziel receives the cinecAward 2010 in the category optics
First shown at cinec 2010 in Munich the new and unique way of MTF measuring of lenses, developed through a partnership of IB/E Optics und Chrosziel, is honoured with the cinecAward. The patented method allows for easy and fast measuring of the contrast transmission of a lens, the so-called Modulation Transfer Function. The measuring can be done in two ways, quick check or evaluation measuring. In the evaluation mode positions all over the picture circle are analyzed. The quick mode is for day-to-day use to check only 2 or 3 critical positions to make sure that the lens performs.
The system comprises a special MTF Test Chart (high resolution slide, also called reticle) to be projected with the lens in question, the MTF Star Sensor for sampling the projected reticle and the MTF Star Analyzing Software.
